It is truly our pleasure to host you at The Kenwood in June; especially with the topic: “Innovations in the Field and What’s Next”. As professionals in the field of aging, we know that it can be difficult to balance meeting our customers' current and future needs as our demographics change.

Shelley is excited to speak to this topic because Senior Star recently partnered with a Switzerland-based organization that has a vision of helping people live well as they live longer. We are proud to introduce their innovative technology that connects the mind and body to Cincinnati area seniors and are excited to make it possible for you to both learn what it is and for some to experience it as well. Curious? We’ll see you next month at The Kenwood!

Schedule
8:30 to 9:00 - Registration and networking
9:00 to 10:00 - Presentation and Q&A
10:00 to 10:30 - Networking

About the Presenter
Shelley Goering is Community Relations Director at The Kenwood by Senior Star and has served older adults in our community for more than 15 years.

She has been a member of the leadership team at The Kenwood for Senior Star for ten plus years opening the flagship continuing care retirement community as Director of Guest Services and then serving as Community Relations Consultant, growing census to capacity and innovating cutting-edge programs. In her current role as Community Relations Director, Shelley provides critical leadership for The Kenwood’s sales and marketing programs.

From 2018 to 2023, Shelley was CEO for 55 North (formerly known as Hyde Park Center for Older Adults).  Under Shelley’s leadership, the organization rebranded and restructured programming and business operations to best serve the changing needs of older adults in our community. At 55 North, Shelley founded the Digital Connect program, bringing technology into the lives and homes of older adults, allowing them to access healthcare, groceries and socialization with families and friends. Digital Connect revolutionized the concept of the senior center, birthing the concept of a virtual senior center and bringing programs and services into the homes and neighborhoods where our seniors live. 55 North was awarded the Small Business Big Impact Award from Altafiber for this achievement in 2021. In January 2023, 55 North merged with Meals on Wheels Southwest Oh & Northern Kentucky where Shelley served as Chief Business Development Officer.

A supporter of numerous nonprofit organizations in our community, Shelley is an advocate for people living with disabilities. Shelley is currently on the LADD Board of Trustees (Living Arrangements for the Developmentally Disabled) and was appointed to the Hamilton County Board of Developmental Disabilities and served as the HCDDS President from 2005 -2009. During this time, she also was the SW Representative to the Ohio Association of County Board of Developmental Disabilities. Shelley is a founding member of the Timothy Freeman, MD, Center for Intellectual & Developmental Disabilities at Uc Health.

Shelley has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Denison University and attended the MBA Professional Development Program Xavier’s William College of Business. She received the Civic Leadership Award from Venue Magazine in 2013 and in 2022 was honored with the Champion for Inclusion Award from the University of Cincinnati’s Advancement and Transition Services.
